“Ephemera” By Ronan Gali

Synopsis

When this moment is sudden, unexpected, undone until reality. When you fall in down and touch this dream, when you let it go and flow your soul to feel the universe. Lost in this perfect moment during a fragment of time. Ephemera.

Directors statement

Ephemera is a personal project, a 2min short film that plays with the unconsciousness, the moving dream and the reality of our protagonist Juliet Searle. Between subconscious or reality, she remembers a trip to the Rajasthan region in India.

Ephemera was created with next to nothing and no production support, we were just a crew of 7 traveling to India including our beautiful model Juliet Searle, everything was extremely challenging there with the lack of production support but this was above all a rich experience for everyone.

The cosmic shots are a collaboration with the talented Thomas Vanz. The magnificent Harold James (thewallgroup) was with us for the hairstyle and Gaëlle Bonnot for the makeup. B-Agency artists Audrey Loy and Kevin Keo replaced them for the shots filmed in Paris. Technically, we shot with a single configuration, based on a RED DRAGON and 2 Optimo Anamorphic lenses from Angenieux with the great Bernard Jallet (ApiCorp) and our magician Sylvain Chaux. We mainly used a run and gun configuration to be able to quickly capture the present moment in this country where the unexpected is always near us.
