“Peripeteia” by Tracy Kiryango

Domestic violence usually takes place in homes, or places where people are less likely to protect or intervene when signs of abuse are taking place. This film explores how without speaking, we can miss small but significant changes to the people closest to us when experiencing joy. New beginnings like the start of a blossoming relationship can consume you in a way that you view the world through rose tinted glasses, blissfully unaware of the darkness plaguing people around you. This film tackles a wide range of emotions and relationships in a short space of time, forcing you to connect with Aria as her world is crumbling down. We utilised the power of visual cues, and sound cues with little to no dialogue, to allow the audience to make their own conclusion of what took place.
