“Canadian Cancer Society - Young Adults” By Amar Chebib

Beyond the Short Official Premiere

Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at age 21, Tina Schomburg intimately recounts her experiences navigating grief within an insensitive medical system and finding healing through community.

Tina Schomburg had her whole life ahead of her when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at age 21. Faced with unbearable grief and a lack of support, she intimately recounts her experiences navigating an insensitive medical system and finding healing through community.

Almost every hour in Canada, a young adult is diagnosed with cancer. They have unique needs – practical, physical and psychosocial – that are unmet by today’s cancer system. The Canadian Cancer Society asked us to make this film as part of a campaign centred on young adults.
