“Pasteis de Nata” by Cam Demars

In this meditative documentary, the senses are captured in the process of Lisbonata's co-founder George Kaya as he takes us through the textural process of his famous custard pastry. Shot on location in 16mm, the film strips down the noise of traditional food documentaries and focuses on the mesmerizing qualities of the process.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“A lot of documentaries about baking/food are about everything around the food, this one is not. The goal was to make a film that had the texture and the meditative feel of actually baking. The goal is to just feel everything.”

-Cam Demars
