“Pierre De Maere - Les Oiseaux” by Jonathan Steuer

We are in the trenches, during the Great War. We follow, in a sequence shot, the singer Pierre De Maere, a soldier who is gripped by a kind of madness, and decides to risk his life by escaping from the battlefield.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“My intention was to show the madness of a man who was lost on the battlefield. This idea came while listening to the lyrics of the song, which are really intense and powerful. I knew that the magnetic and sensitive way of moving and acting of the artist Pierre De Maere would perfectly embody this madness.

By doing a sequence shot, I also wanted to go over the traditional music video construction, and create a real immersive and sensory experience for the viewer, to get him as close as possible to the action and the emotions of the artist.”
