“Próxima Parada - Terno Rei” by MIG
“Próxima Parada” is an enigmatic journey where reality and the surreal intertwine. The music video follows mysterious characters inside and outside a bus, trapped in a cycle of expectation, pleasure, disgust, and relief—moments of quiet intensity within a dreamlike atmosphere.Shot on 16mm film, it creates a nostalgic, ethereal mood, evoking a dream suspended in time. The cast merges band members and actors. Through silent tension and small gestures, the video transforms an ordinary journey into a space where emotions rise and fade—extraordinary yet fleeting, like a memory slipping away.

"Terno Rei has always been on my playlists - their sound is deeply cinematic, the kind that naturally evokes images. Maybe that's why they already have such a strong collection of music videos.
When I first heard this track, I was struck by how it begins with a melancholic tone that gradually dissolves into a sense of hope in the chorus. That emotional shift inspired the idea of a strange, slightly hostile universe, inhabited by intriguing characters. The band already came with the concept of the bus, and from there, I started to shape the characters and their arcs — some of which find resolution, while others remain open-ended.
The narrative has a Lynchian quality to it: more about evoking atmosphere, strong imagery, and memorable characters than about telling a linear story. Visually and tonally, it also draws from films of the late '90s like Trainspotting, Buffalo 66, and even the earlier Taxi Driver - movies with striking aesthetics and a subtle undercurrent of humor.
From the very beginning, I knew this world had to be captured on 16mm — only the rawness and texture of film could truly bring it to life."
