“Pure and Undefiled Religion” by Grant Watson and Brody Burgess

The Varvoutis family were attending The Church at Brook Hills when they began to feel God's prompting about the plight that many children face in the foster care system. They decided to go through the process with the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes to become trained to be foster parents. Little did they know that they would go on to have over 10 placements within their home without any plans of stopping.

They go on to describe that they went into foster care to change these children's lives but in the process, they had their very lives changed as well. It's radically shaped their faith as well as their children's. They're changing generations one child at a time.

FROM THE DIRECTOR:

“Pure and Undefiled Religion is a film following the story of the Varvoutis family as they listened to God’s call to become foster parents. We hope that it provides you with a framework and context for what children in the foster care system so often experience.

We're grateful to the Varvoutis family for giving us the opportunity to come and tell their story. Another thanks goes out to the people at Alabama Baptist Children's Homes for the work that so often goes unnoticed. Ultimately, we hope that it leaves you wondering, how can I get involved and change the trajectory of a child's life?”
