“Suspended in Space” by Cameron Thuman
“Suspended in Space” stars Swedish pro skier Kajsa Larsson and Canadian pro skier Celeste Pomerantz, with an all-original soundtrack by Liam Mour, recorded in Berlin’s Funkhaus Cathedral. The short is from two-time Cannes YDA-nominated director Cameron Thuman and produced by NativeFour, created as a nationwide collaboration to advocate the northern charm of the Yukon Territory.
DIRECTORS STATEMENT
“Nestled away in the Yukon, we discovered a place where time stops. "Suspended in Space" is a melodic trance starring Kajsa Larsson and Celeste Pomerantz. The stillness of the White Pass is juxtaposed with surrealistic bursts of energy; the film is not quite a traditional short or documentary. It lives in a blurred line, bending between reality and dreams. By making the Yukon the main character, we focused the story on the simplicity and singularity of being there through Kasja and Celeste's eyes.
“Suspended in Space” was developed with Travel Yukon, Air North, Yukon Heliski, and HeliCat Canada. The film was captured in the White Pass, Yukon Territory, in the territories of the Taku River Tlingit First Nations (TRTFN), Carcross/Tagish First Nations (CTFN), and The Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN).”
