“Auxilio” by Andy Gonzalez

Four kids waiting in a parking lot pass the time joking around. When they realize they are unable open the car windows, they attempt to remain calm and come up with a plan. With little success, and absolutely no reference of time, they realize there’s a bigger problem ahead to be solved on their own.

From the director

The story is about the coming of age in a child, sparked by a traumatic situation like getting stuck inside a car for a long time. The theme was to show how adversity can force someone into adulthood, its big decisions and its inevitable consequences. Darkness inside the car aims to empathize with these kids' claustrophobic situation. The handheld camera provided them total freedom to perform in a reduced space. While rehearsing we came across with new ideas just by watching the actors play their roles for the first time. Performers completed the characters with their interpretations up to the point of improving the whole story.
