“Circle” By Martin Melnick
Synopsis
Circle is a loose adaptation of the myth of Eurydice. It tells the story of two friends (Eury and Daniel) as they attempt to escape a nightmarish road in the dead of night. Through their struggle, Eury is forced to work through a traumatic part of her childhood.
Directors statement
With a love for genre films, the team behind “Circle” set out to bring a new perspective to genre allegory. Using Orpheus and Eurydice as a loose story model, and an aesthetic born out of a respect for 80’s sci-fi/horror, “Circle” tells a deeply human story underneath a mask of melancholic creepiness.
