“HIPPOCRITES: A Broken Oath in Reproductive Health” by Swan Duo
A young doctor is reciting the Hippocratic Oath during his medical school graduation somewhere in 1990s Texas. A young woman named Rosie, living in today's post-Roe world, just learned she's pregnant. As the story unfolds, worlds collide and both face the very challenging situation of access to reproductive care being restricted or banned. "Hippocrites" shines a spotlight on our post-Roe world–on how doctors are being forced to break the Hippocratic Oath they solemnly swore to uphold and on how women's health and lives are increasingly at risk.

SWAN: "As female directors, “Hippocrites” spoke to us on a very personal level. Media often tells the side of the woman but changes to the law have forced doctors to break their oath. “Hippocrites” allowed us to tell both sides."
Julieta: "Living in a world where reproductive health is restricted, and rights are constantly being questioned is not the kind of world we want for future generations. It’s distressing."
Lucía: "Projects like this give us the opportunity to raise our voices and shed light on a situation that threatens women's rights in different parts of the world."
SWAN: "We are utterly convinced that we have created a powerful short film that will raise awareness about reproductive healthcare and access to abortion, which are vital for women's rights."
