“Seca” by PolY

A young girl discovers the devastating effects of a global water shortage and embarks on a mission to bring water back to Earth.

She then summons the help from miraculous revered saint La Difunta Correa, who died of thirst while crossing the desert but kept her child alive by breastfeeding him long after she passed away.

Deeply connected with nature, she submerges into esoteric rituals and offers both her own pleasure and pain, hoping to boost fertility into the ground.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“The story behind the story…

On location scout we found everything very different from pictures. The biggest drought.

We go again, to see and listen and understand. The layers, the coexistence of life and beauty, in presence and absence. So we decided to give it a voice.

I was lucky enough to have full support from a bold sustainable brand that encouraged total freedom on creativity, and partnered as a team among the incredible crew who comitted to handle Nature with respect, and make this film on a very hot summer day without using a single plastic water bottle.

Right after the shoot, there was a first time red alert warning on the increase of this cyanobacteria (blue green algae) in the water of Argentina's rivers due to global warming and climate change.”
