“Sofia Mamani | Corriendo Conmigo” By Alex Fischman Cardenas

A short documentary on Peruvian long-distance runner Sofia Mamani and her family.

Director Alex Fischman Cardenas traveled to Puno, Peru to shoot this short documentary alongside Director of Photography Jesse Bronstein and the taxi driver they hired at the airport. Alex tells the story of long-distance runner Sofia Mamani and her family and captures the meditative qualities of running and training in the mountains.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to tell such an inspiring story. This short documentary explores the universal theme of pursuing one's dreams with the support of family, and the power it can have in an individual's journey. The run and gun approach we embraced during production, with our small two-person crew, allowed us to capture the raw, emotional moments that make this story so special.”
