“Saving Sloth's Together” By Ethan Edmunds

In 2017 Toucan Rescue Ranch collaborated with The Sloth Institute to form a Costa Rica-wide project seeking a greater opportunity for sloths in need. By combining each organization’s skills and knowledge, they improved the rescue, rehabilitation, and rewilding process for sloths in Costa Rica.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“This film was created to highlight the work being done to rescue and rehabilitate sloths at Toucan Rescue Ranch in Costa Rica. Sloth’s are vital to the ecosystems where they live but unfortunately often face challenges due to coming into conflict with humans. Increased human activity creates many problems for sloth’s but at the same time humans are the ones brining healing and restoration to these animals.

While there are many problems faced by animals and the natural environments of our world I ultimately wanted this to be a story of hope. Through collaboration, research, and education, major strides have been made to rehabilitate and conserve the animals and natural spaces on our earth creating a brighter future for us all.”
