The music video for "Pretend Lovers" delves into the challenges of commitment. Captured in a continuous single shot, the video depicts Arcane's earnest attempt to clarify to his girlfriend the rationale behind his hostility to commitment in their turbulent relationship. His sole desire is to keep her close without any obligations. However, the girl's lack of comprehension stems from Arcane's initial miscommunication, leading to the repercussions he now confronts due to his choices.

“The inspiration for this music video's concept came to me during the final stages of production on the song. Initially, the vision was to portray a relationship on the brink of chaos. As the concept took shape, it flourished into something I had always aspired to accomplish: capturing the entire sequence in a single continuous shot. This was sparked by a compelling long-take scene I watched in True Detective season 1, episode 4 which left an impression on me. I wanted to evoke tension between the two characters, my goal was to keep the audience fully engaged, experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions alongside the characters throughout the video. I believed that by doing a single-take approach would immerse viewers in the unpredictable and intense journey, allowing them to share similar emotions and remain captivated until the end.”
