“Rachel Reis - Lovezinho” by Lu Villaça

Directed by Lu Villaça, feminine emotional and moral freedom is the main theme in Lovezinho, the music video for the newest song by Rachel Reis.

A tribute to female power and strength, while also a provocation towards a society that cannot free itself from sexist standards.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

"It seems like a tired subject, but very unfortunately the woman's lack of freedom of expression, emotionally and sexually, permeates everything. We live in the country of savagery (Brazil) and who is handcuffed right away is a woman with her breasts out on a beach. We have witnessed episodes of pure cruelty against women, such as sexual abuse during labor (by an anesthetist) and a 11 years old child having her right by law of abortion after being raped by her uncle denied by a traditional judge. (Those are all facts that occurred on June 2022 in Brazil)

We live in a discourse of free will, but women suffer very cruel emotional pressures for any choice that breaks expectations of an outdated society. It is expected that women want to live for things beyond her and a true female independence is still a resistance movement.

We have a mission, an intrinsic responsibility: to voice and strength to all women around the globe."
