“REKA WW – WIND OH WIND” by Egor Gavrilin

Official Beyond the Short Premiere

What you’re encountering is a mantra-song, a spell, an enchantment that turns back the pain and destruction brought by fire.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Vika wrote this song a few days after the start of the war. She wrote it as a spell to awaken the forces of goodness and love, which should and must defeat the evils of this world.

When I heard the song, I wanted to add more power to this spell, to enforce it by showing how it works, how it literally reverses pain and destruction.

The film crew assembled immediately, at first notice. Despite the fact that any form of anti-war expression or activism in Russia is threatened with severe punishment, absolutely all the people we contacted immediately agreed to take part in the filming. We shot this video with the hope that, like the song, it will give strength to everyone who sees it, help to believe that, in spite of everything, good will definitely prevail, and any wounds will be healed.”
