Beyond the Short

The narrative follows the simple joys of checking in on a friend, despite the mundane topics of repeated conversation. A conversation which had to be recorded off script, as this was the only way we could capture an honest tone of voice. By complementing their responses with charming imagery and an uplifting track, we were able to shine a more positive light on the feeling of being alone.

This short film was shot in lockdown Melbourne using only a camera, tripod, the natural light available and our girlfriends as actresses, a real homemade movie.
