“I Guess It Might Be Selfish” by Eddie Shore

Beyond the Short Official Premiere

While an Elder Statesman recounts difficult memories of a late friend of his father's, George struggles to balance individual and family needs during a snowy weekend at home. Inspired by the short stories of Raymond Carver, "I Guess It Might Be Selfish" is an ode to Vermont, exploring the complexity of selfish acts in our lives.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Inspired by the short stories of Raymond Carver, I Guess It Might Be Selfish is an ode to Vermont, exploring the complexity of selfish acts in our lives. The image of the iconic Single Chair at Mad River Glen, the only chairlift of its kind left in the country, was the genesis of the entire project; it is a conveyance of isolation, a reflective system, a nostalgic and antique reminder of our solitary pursuits.”
