“Monday Morning” by Isabella Vizetta

Nicolaia is a helper android going through her daily chores in a house that is now uninhabited. Through a speaker on her chest, she plays  audio recordings of what daily life with her former family sounded like, all while she gradually begins to malfunction until her circuit finally shuts down.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“I wrote this short during an intensely lonely winter as a way of channeling my feelings somewhere. Around the time, I'd been thinking a lot about AI and robots due to some tech conferences I attended and the sci-fi books I was consuming and I ended up finding Nico, this loyal android whose longing keeps her stuck in a loop until her very end. Assigning the emotion of solitude to a robot was my way of declaring it a universal experience, transcending even the bounds of our flesh.”
