“unanswered prayer” by Taylor MacDonald

Beyond the Short Official Premiere

Abel works as a bus boy at a local seafood restaurant in a costal town. Our short film picks up with Abel, on vacation at his parents cabin in the mountains. Abel begins to experience symptoms of mania as personal voicemails begin to reverberate throughout the house. Bass rattles from the basement and Abel is cued to go down stairs, only to find a haunting religious image that he can't shake.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Our short film "unanswered prayer" was shot in 2 takes, with no budget and as a visual exercise for our full length feature film. Tyler and I have been collaborating on this concept of a feature film exploring themes similar to the short under the same title.

My friends and I took a trip to North Carolina on my 30th birthday. Spur of the moment, we decided to pull the available camera out and start rolling. Tyler and I blocked out the one take through the house. Then shot a take. Reset and had time for one more. The two shots were cut together in post and resulted in the final film. Thanks for watching! More to come.”
