“What Once Was Sowed” by Nathan Podshadley

An old farmer grapples with his organic existence in the world.

When a familiar face visits an old farmer's house, a shift in his reality forces him to come to terms with his approaching fate.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

““What Once was Sowed” is an experimental short project made in collaboration with the American Film Institute. I set out to create a visual character study of an old farmer at the end of time. The land has become barren and the fruits are gone. It’s not all bleak though; there is rebirth in the end. I had a wonderful time working with all my collaborators on this and there was a great balance of working in a composed and planned way as well as reacting to the amazing performance of Joseph Lloyd Lopez.”
