“Wild for the Night” by Jamieson Rhyme
A lonely Los Angeles rideshare driver picks up a fare he thinks will change his luck but when things don't go his way he makes a choice with a grave outcome.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
“The main character, Jack, represents the disenfranchised working-class. He works hard and wants a better life but he can’t reconcile that with the reality of his circumstances. When he has a brief connection with a beautiful female rider, Sandra, he believes it's a sign of things to come. Choosing to take matters into his own hands he follows her to ensure he encounters her again. He thinks he's responsible for seizing the opportunity for the life he wants but when things take an unexpected turn he fails to recognize the truth is different from the story he tells himself.
As the night unfolds, he imposes his own narrative on the events that take place and makes the dangerous choice to take extreme action.
This film explores how the desperation for something better can lead to ruin. As current societal events are demonstrating, when a perfect storm of circumstances meets the wrong internal narrative, dangerous outcomes can unfold.”
