“EVERY LAST ECHO” by Mick Soiza
Every Last Echo supports Aquila Young's EP as a visual exploration. It explores the idea of existence through the passage of life and the submission to the greater external forces of life.
It’s a reflection on existence - the magnitude of the force of nature and the human will that yields to it. We are marveled by the world and its magnitude, and this speaks to the venerable kind because it brings acceptance to the unstoppable journey of life.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
“Every Last Echo supports Aquila Young's EP as a visual exploration. It explores the idea of existence through the passage of life and the submission to the greater external agencies, ie. the forces of life. It’s a reflection on existence - the magnitude of the force of nature and the human will that yields to it. There were three themes Aquila Young gravitated toward
1. The natural world - elements of nature with its grandeur and larger-than-life qualities
2. Blue mood - in her mind, the monologue had a "blue" or cool mood with an orange to balance, like her artwork.
3. Symbolism - images that could evoke the text whether literally or figuratively (rolling ocean tide; swirling view; contrasting human emotions through characters and dance).
I knew Aquila wanted the audience to be marveled by the world and its magnitude and have it speak to the venerable kind because it brings acceptance to the unstoppable journey of life - what will we remember in the end? What matters most in the end?”
