“Noodles Forever” by McKinley Carlin

En route to his daughter's birthday party, a hapless father annihilates a wiener dog with his car.

Phil’s late- and that’s only the start of his nightmare. He’s on his way to his daughter’s birthday party, hosted by his ex-wife Claire. And he doesn’t see the Dachshund in the street until it’s too late. The dog is smushed, and Claire is approaching the car. The now grief-stricken Phil hurriedly hides the carcass in a gift box, and Claire - oblivious to its contents - hurries Phil into the party. Phil is horrified to see who the star of the party is: Reggie and Claire’s new dog, Noodles the Dachshund.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Noodles Forever is a tragic comedy that is intended to feel like a bad dream. It follows a father whose day just keeps getting worse after hitting a wiener—dog in the street with his car. The idea for ‘Noodles Forever’ started a few years back, in the driver’s seat of the same exact car that’s featured in the film. I was driving home, when a golden doodle sprinted across the road in front of me. After I slammed on the brakes, I realized that it was my sister’s dog, and what would have happened if I had annihilated him in the street, right in front of my entire family.

I wrote the first draft as soon as I got home. After three days of filming, and countless hours in post, we are proud to present Noodles Forever to the world. It is our hope that you will laugh at the misery of our main character, and fall in love with the wiener-dog that is the backbone of this movie. Making this film was a total blast and brought me closer to so many people, and I want to shout out the cast and crew that worked on Noodles Forever. You have my gratitude forever. So, I hope that you enjoy the film, and forgive me for the way it begins. Some of you, won’t.”
