“Plight” by Elijah Austin

Beyond the Short Official Premiere

After having to put down his sick horse, a man leaves on foot during the winter to retrieve provisions his family. On the exhausting journey home,  he is ambushed in the mountains and left alone to die. By willpower alone, he struggles to survive and make it home, but it isn't enough. Something else beckons him to make one last effort.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“When I got the idea for “Plight”, it was during a time when I felt overworked while trying to provide for my family. Everything felt grueling because I was trying to make ends meet and I was losing the passion for doing the thing I loved- filmmaking. This short film was a way to combat those feelings, to make a small project that I was excited about, and also explore themes about hardship in life, the struggle to get through, and how immutable it all seems to be.”
